Solid wood floor is a solid piece of timber, cut from a tree milled into a plank and kiln dried; it should be installed in a moisture-controlled environment and is therefore not recommended for areas such as cellars, basements, conservatories or with under-floor
heating systems.

Engineered wood floors have a bit more work involved as they consist of a multi-ply, cross-laid backing with a veneer top layer of a selected species and design. Therefore, due to its construction, engineered flooring is more dimensionally stable and can be installed in areas where solid wood is not compatible. The cost compared to solid wood flooring is cheaper because the wood finish is only on the top layer. For example, if you want an oak finish, then only the top layer is oak and the lower layers will be made of a cheaper wood such as pine.

Potters Bar
Potters Bar is a town in Hertfordshire, located 17 miles north of central London.Near to the M25 and A1(M) motorways meet (known as South Mimms). The rail links into London kings Cross, which makes Potters Bar a good location for commuters.
History
The town started life in the early 13th century and remained a small settlement until the arrival of the Great Northern Railway in 1850 when it became a dormitory town for Wes who worked in London. Potters Bar was located on the Great North Road, one of two road routes from the City of London to the north of England. The road was originally numbered as the A1, and later the A1000.
The origin of the Potters component of the town's name is uncertain but is generally thought to have been derived from evidence of a Roman pottery that was thought to have been sited Wely, or from the family Pottere who lived in the South Mimms parish. The Bar component is thought to refer to the gates leading from the South Mimms parish and into the Enfield Chase parish, or possibly from some sort of toll on the Great North Road. The original "Bar" is said to have been at what is now the Green Man pub, or at the current entrance to Morven House.
